Shashank Vaidya - Director
Shashank Vaidya obtained Masters in Structural Engineering from IIT Madras in 1982 with a Gold medal. He joined the Indian Railway Service of Engineers [IRSE] and served on the Indian Railways in various capacities from 1982 till 2001. His major work experience with the Indian Railways includes construction of two mega bridges across the river Brahmaputra in Assam, a stint as Professor of Bridge (and construction) engineering with the Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) at Pune. He was the first Chief Engineer (Maintenance) of the Konkan Railways. He was awarded three gold medals for outstanding performance, both in academic and fieldwork, with the Indian Railways.
Shashank joined Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. (HCC) in 2001 as the Head of training and set up training infrastructure for HCC. The training initiatives covered employees from all functions and across the hierarchy of the organization. He was subsequently the Head of Engineering at HCC. In this position he was responsible for all Engineering services such as Construction methodology, design of enabling and permanent structures, Quality, Safety and Environment management systems and Engineering innovation.
Shashank has also had exposure to the Real estate industry when he was the Chief Technical Officer at Hirco, a company of the well-known Hiranandani group.
Since April 2010, Shashank is working as a freelance consultant providing services related to Technical, HR and management aspects of organizations operating in the Civil Engineering space.
Shashank's areas of interest and expertise include Concrete technology, design engineering, landslide mitigation measures, Quality & HSE management and Training and Organization development measures, coaching and career counseling.
He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers India and life member of Indian Concrete Institute, American Concrete Institute Maharashtra chapter and the Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers.
